- Psalm 27:4
- Isaiah 33:17
On Labor Day, I paused to spend extra intentional time with the Lord in prayer and Scripture. As I reflected on my life and how God led me to this mission field, a new truth became clear:
Life became beautiful when I began to follow Him.
A flood of memories came to mind—moments I once saw as ordinary, now transformed. I saw God’s faithful hand in every season—using both the good times and the bad times to mature me and to bring Him glory, even before I truly began following Him.
But above the beauty of His work was the beauty of God Himself. Remembering His faithfulness moved me to worship, and seeing His beauty stirred in me a deeper desire to witness His work even more.
I have seen lost people come to know Him, believers mature in Him, and the church thrive under Him.
I have seen the lonely find fellowship in Christ, the outcasts be invited in, and the least of these be loved.
I have seen people who are broken over their sin be forgiven and transformed.
I have seen the prayers of the faithful—lifted up over years and years—be answered in perfect timing.
I have witnessed Him use unqualified, broken, and willing people as tools for His work.
These are beautiful things—from a beautiful God.
When I first began following Christ, my desires were not aligned with His. But as I walk with Him and stay rooted in His Word, He continues to transform my heart and align my thoughts and desires with His. And now, these things—His work, His ways—are beautiful to me.
There’s nothing better than witnessing God’s beauty and inviting others to see it—for eternity.
“God, forgive my wandering pursuits. Let my only desire be for You and Your glory. Thank You for letting me be part of Your work. Lead me and give me the strength to be faithful to you.
Call others to join You too.
Amen.”
